Interpretation of the Copyright Act – Jamaica

As usual when trying to read any article of law – one has to sort through the various mumbo jumbo of legal jargon. In my search for an interpretation of the Act, I came across the website of the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) website Here is a link to an excerpt from their site as to the interpretation of The Copyright Act, Act 5 or 1993 (Jamaica)

In addition here is another link to Jamaica Intellectual Property Office’s (JIPO) website Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on Copyright and Related Rights.

More information can also be found at the JAMCOPY website regarding the interpretation of the said Copyright Act mentioned above.

The Berne Convention of which Jamaica is a signatory.
